I am currently a Masters student working with Dr. Andruid Kerne, at the Interface Ecology Lab. My research interests have grown from an interest in user interfaces, information visualization and information architecture to multitouch interfaces, gestural computing, computer-supported collaborative work and information extraction and web crawling strategies.

For my thesis research, I am working on creating interfaces for a multitouch platform. With the use of gesture recognition, these new interfaces will allow a person to interact with a computer by the use of his hands for complex actions such as searching, collecting and composing information. I hope to prove that interacting with a computer using this new multitouch interface, instead of the traditional mouse-pointer interface will be easier, more intuitive, engaging and fun!

I also work on a new metadata management system for combinFormation. My previous projects include an experimental collaborative workspace for combinFormation, and an interactive web crawler. As a long term goal, I am interested in working on problems that will help people deal with, and make sense of the vast amounts of knowledge that are freely available, but not necessarily easily accessible on the world wide web.
